once again lets dive into the nether regions of my psyche. hehehe
its quite difficult to redirect my current trin of thought which is in itself quite interesting to where i was just five minutes ago out in the street.

i had started off naturally while smoking my usual joint out on the street, walking home. one thought led to another and naturally, because of the circumstances it went to how stuffed up our current society is because of backward thinking lawmakers who dont adapt to the fluidity of social evolution. naturally i was inwardly upset by all this but continued up the street with a beautiful stoned grin on my beautiful face. hahaha (a bit of human vanity)
anyway i kept mulling over it and one thought led to another and i couldnt help but admire the simplicity and straightforwardness of the little i knew about traditional aboriginal law and punishment. how we in comparison sometimes in the hastness to respond to a new situation apply the wrong solution to things, we have to many non-crimes in the criminal system...
i mean i could have easily been picked up off the street for smoking that joint, probably taken to jail til i was clear headed. probably fined too with a summons to appear in court. which i would respectfully comply with of course. after all, i do believe in law, order and social obligation.
anyway i'm sidetracking... bloody stoners.

so i was thinking how inflexible societies actually are when it comes to accepting the idea that there might be better ways of doing things... that they might be wrong or simply outdated.

anyway, i was thinking that when different societies come together as they often do. rather than fence themselves off in defence they should rather see it as an additional database of new information in human interaction. different communities that have no contact with one another will have tried different variations of solutions to the same of similar social problems that arise in the day to day of human interactivity. i think that when you do find solutions that seem to work and are also fair you shouldnt brush it off as simply primitive and therefore no good just because the people that practice it are labeled by us as primitive(1 ). we shouldnt dismeiss them like that. after all they as a social experiment have been at it for just as long as we have. their social problems and crimes are similar if not exactly the same as ours. we do study other cultures, but somehow for the wrong reasons. instead of it being a search for new components to better our own society, we do it simply out of curiosity because we would never admit to 'being taught by anyone elses'. humans have a superiority complex.

i just keep imagining how the world could be such a better place. like it should be, dangerous certainly, but fair. we should stop trying to protect ourselves from nature instead embrace it. and ourselves as a part of it. live with it, rather than from it.
i mean, the cities and towns we occupy are not our natural habitat. its artificial. our natural habitat are the forest, the mountains, the steppes and the oceans. and i truly believe that as a species we must stay strong. and to do so we should learn to live alongside these things rather than in artificial bubbles(2.). we would certainly be happier. more occupied, more active. now dont get me wrong. i'm not as i have never said we should revert to a hunter gatherer society again, much as that would be beautiful. im just saying we shouldnt mold our surroundings to what we want. but mold what we want to our surroundings. evolve in technology without destroying. it should be an objective that shouldnt even be questioned, not a last resort because the dirty way was easier.
so yeh...

anyway that was part of the thought of the day.
